Arbonne la Foret- The village of our French Farm House, "Le Papillon Mignon" and the Surrounding Towns
The village where Papillon Mignon is located-Arbonne la Foret, has a fascinating history dating back to the 13th century, when it was called Gilo of Arbonne. In 1660 the domain belonged to the Baron of Milly. Milly derives from the word "miles" meaning knight. The land was in fact awarded, by the king, originally to his favorite knight. From that point on the domain was envied and subject to disputes during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
