Holly and Philip Howard-Les Artistes.

They are an amusing couple. He is 6 feet 1½ inches tall with a mustache and a French baret that has seen 16 years of constant use. He also wears tweed jackets, bow ties, and often polo clothes. She is 5 feet 5 inches tall, blonde, and she wears black tights and bright colored tops with bangles and beads. She’s a bit of a “wannabe gypsy”. They are both artists. Bijoux the cat, and Chiquita the parrot are also Howards.

If opposites attract, it appears, to be true with Philip and Holly Howard. She has a one minded determination and stubborn resolution in achieving a goal; while he is “happy go lucky” in his chatter and good will. Having met through a common friend Philip, nicknamed Holly, “Angel from Earth” right from the beginning. After two years, it digressed to “Angie” and finally “Sparkie” won over, as the French chateau progressed and nerves grew short.

This unusual fit would seem almost “comical”, if it were not for an underlying common, if not unspoken, artistic mutual understanding. Philip, is a semi-professional jazz drummer and an ex-high tech recruiter; while Holly is an interior decorator, who has been written up in “Vogue” magazine, as an exclusive European designer for a high end franchised children’s clothing line.

Both are avid horse lovers and Phil’s athletic prowess has led him to “champion” status in tennis, skiing, and polo. He is presently well loved and much appreciated as a “Professeur” in several local universities. Both Howards are “people’s” people and love their friends. Your hosts are varied in their personalities and interests. They are quite a bit characters and not a little bit artists and rest assured, your visit will be amusing, fun, warm and friendly and full of color. It will be a vacation to savor and remember!
