Inclusive in a week's stay:

Seminar Price

$2,500 per person for a double room or $3,300 for a single room.

*Complete instruction and instructors for the choice of classes on pre-assigned days. This is included as part of the targeted seminars, but it is not included in the general planned week.

*On the first morning your hosts will welcome you at the quaint country train station of Fontainebleau and accompany you to the chateau "Papillon Mignon" where a cold aperitif of champagne or white wine welcomes you.

*Each room has fresh cut flowers (of the pot of flowers that is it's namesake, or in the case of the French country cooking, a basket of French specialties.) A light relaxing lunch will be served. You will then have an opportunity to unpack and enjoy your first impressions of the beautiful Seine-et-Marne province of the Ile de France region.

*We will then take a "getting acquainted" ride through Barbizon, Fontainebleau, Milly la Foret and the spectactular villages of Courances, and Fleury-en-Bière.

            Cély-en-Bière                    Fleury-en-Bière

*Morning brunches are a complete English breakfast with a varied assortment of local favorites and preferred breakfast foods.

*There is an additional sight seeing afternoon to the Musée Ganne in Barbizon and the chateau of Fontainebleau, and a trip to the medieval market of Milly la Foret or the farmer's market of Fontainebleau.

                Palace of Fontainebleau

*Lunch is provided in the form of a picnic or a stop at a open air market while “luncheoning” on fresh local favorites: “galette” from Houdan, cheese from Coulommiers and regional fresh produce or an occasional garden buffet.

*The evening “happy hour” is generally spent in the living room that was originally the barn and hayloft, therefore the ceilings are spectacularly high. The walls are the original stone.  The room is enriched in an atmosphere of classical music. (6-7 P.M.)

* A planned list of local restaurants will be provided and recommendations will be made for your dinner plans- bookings if desired. (Please no changes or cancellations.)

Many of these restaurants are across wheat fields, near the towns, around bends or by the bord of the Loing. We would recommend a driver to facilitate a relaxed return since taxis are not available. Please indicate if you would like to have us reserve a car and driver for the evening.
